You’re invited: Open House hosted by Common Kids

Did you know that the Common Pantry reaches nearly 300 families a month, providing food, fresh produce, social services, and a warm community for those struggling to put food on the table? We couldn’t do this without YOU, so we are inviting families from our partner schools to come see the Pantry in action.

Please sign up to attend our Open House event, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Pantry. Common Kids will host pantry tours as well as a morning of family-friendly activities for parents and kids to do together. Kids enjoy visiting the mini “supermarket” (complete with shopping carts) where our clients “shop.” Hands-on activities include making toiletry kits, snack bags, desserts and other items for distribution to clients and to share at our weekly community lunch. We’ll also launch the Common Kids Lemonade Stand Challenge, a chance for kids to have some fun (and perhaps win a prize) fundraising together.

Please sign up here  for a one-hour slot. To ensure that everyone is able to tour our (limited) pantry space, we ask that you register in advance; however, we are open all morning and you are welcome to stay longer.

Common Kids is a Pantry program that enables parents and children to volunteer side-by-by side as children grow in empathy and learn how they can help address food insecurity.
